2026 TOMATO and PEPPER VARIETIES
Here are the wonderful tomato & pepper varieties we're growing for you this year! It is very early days yet (January 11th) but the first of the tomato seedlings have sprouted out in our greenhouse & we couldn't wait a moment longer to share the excitement! It is easy to get obsessed with new varieties, plus there are many more in the "tried & true" category, so our list gets longer every single year. If you've ever visited us here at Cottage Gardens of Petaluma, you're probably aware our space is a tad limited - meaning not all varieties will be available every day or even every week. BUT know that these are what we're growing for you. If you can't live without any of these tasty summer wonders, make sure to put your name on our wishlist next time you visit & we will call you when they're ready!

Tomatoes and peppers LOVE warm weather, so the earliest we bring our new tom and pepper starts out will be early March. That might be warm enough in some regions, but most of us still have chilly soil and the air temps aren't that great either, so patience is the best virtue every in early spring... If you must get your starts early, keep them cozy till the soil warms up.
The best time to plant tomatoes and peppers here in Petaluma is mid-April to the end of May. Areas with no frost at all can get an earlier start, and regions closer to the mountains might want to wait a little longer. Just ask when you get here!
